An ounce and a half of light rum, half an ounce of maraschino, half an ounce of lemon. Cherry stone and almond against the lemon, rum underneath. Coupe, cherry. Maraschino is half the sour, ounce for ounce with the lemon.

History

Harry Craddock invented the King's Jubilee in 1935 for the Silver Jubilee of King George V, while head bartender at the American Bar in the Savoy. William James Tarling prints it in the 1937 Cafe Royal Cocktail Book, Coronation Edition, as Craddock's: half Daiquiri rum, a quarter Luxardo maraschino (dry), a quarter lemon juice. The United Kingdom Bartenders' Guild Approved Cocktails of the same year carries the same formula. This menu is an ounce and a half of light rum and half an ounce each of maraschino and lemon, coupe, cherry.
