- 3/4 oz Maraschino liqueur
- 3/4 oz Lemon juice
Shake hard with ice, then strain.

Taste
Equal three-quarters of rye, green Chartreuse, maraschino, and lemon. The Last Word on whiskey: herbal, cherry, and lemon against rye pepper. Shaken, coupe.
History
Phil Ward built the Final Ward at Death & Co in New York in 2007, a Last Word with rye in place of gin and lemon in place of lime. Robert Simonson treats it as a modern classic. Equal parts, shaken, coupe, no garnish. That is how it is poured here.
