Gin, shaken
Campari Alexander
Barline 1,1,1,c
The code is the shorthand off my printed menu; the Key tab decodes every letter.
- 1 oz Campari
- 1 oz Crème de cacao
- 1 oz Cream
Shake hard with ice, then strain.
Coupe.
Taste
Equal ounces of Campari, crème de cacao, and cream. No base spirit. Bitter orange and chocolate under cream. Shaken, coupe. Pink, cocoa, and a bitter finish.
History
Brett Adams and Jacob Grier print the Campari Alexander in Raising the Bar (2022): equal Campari, crème de cacao, and cream, shaken, coupe. It is Ensslin's Alexander with Campari in the gin slot. The manuals before 1970 do not have it. The ounces stay equal.
