- 3/4 oz Lemon juice
- 1/4 oz Honey syrup
- 1 oz Champagne
Shake hard with ice, then strain.
Coupe, lemon twist.
Taste
Three-quarters each of vodka, elderflower, and lemon, a quarter of honey, an ounce of Champagne. The Champagne is the volume. Shaken, then the wine, coupe, lemon twist. Flower, honey, bubbles, a small drink that foams from the fizz.
History
Charles H. Baker prints a Queen Bee in 1951 The South American Gentleman's Companion on apple brandy, lemon, honey, and curaƧao; that is not this drink. The vodka, elderflower, lemon, honey, and Champagne Queen Bee is in none of the pre-1970 manuals. St-Germain, the elderflower liqueur this recipe calls for, launched in 2007. The pour is three-quarters each of vodka, elderflower, and lemon, a quarter of honey syrup, and an ounce of Champagne, coupe, lemon twist.
