- 1 1/2 oz Gin
- 3/4 oz Orange liqueur
- 3/4 oz Lemon juice
- 1 barspoon Simple syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
Shake hard with ice, then strain.
Coupe.
Taste
An ounce and a half of gin, three-quarters orange liqueur, three-quarters lemon, a barspoon of simple. Two dashes of Angostura pull bark and clove through the orange. Shaken, coupe. Peel, pith, and a little clove on the gin.
History
The Fine and Dandy prints in Harry Craddock's 1930 Savoy Cocktail Book: a quarter lemon, a quarter Cointreau, half Plymouth gin, and one dash of Angostura, shaken. It is a White Lady with bitters and without egg, under another name. Craddock does not claim it. This menu keeps the two-to-one gin against equal orange liqueur and lemon, adds a barspoon of simple, and doubles the bitters to two dashes.
